Certification as a Paraoptometric and additional certification levels are obtainable which can lead to increased compensation.

Job Duties

• Greeting and welcoming incoming patients
• Performing examination pre-testing and medical history for each patient appointment
• Maintaining/cleaning/scheduling repairs of ophthalmic equipment/machines
• Exam room maintenance (cleaning, organizing, restocking)
• Taking regular inventory of ophthalmic supplies, placing orders as needed, and keeping all exam and testing rooms stocked with necessary supplies.
• Assisting with administrative duties as needed: appointment scheduling, faxing/calling in medication prescriptions, filling records requests, preparing and sending referrals for patient care, and more.
• Training contact lens patients who are first-time wearers on proper insertion and removal of contacts

Compensation package

• Competitive wages: $18-21 per hour

Qualifications

• Be licensed to practice in the state of California
• Experience in anterior and posterior segment pathology required
• Ability to perform high level CL Fittings and Evaluations
• TLG certification required
• Must be available to work Saturdays
• Highly motivated, with a desire to be amazing
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and personal development
• Willingness to learn new optical products to make personalized recommendations
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
