Dr. William To graduated from UC San Diego with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Biology and a Minor in Psychology and earned his Doctor of Optometry degree at Western University of Health Sciences. He is regularly invited to several Optometric Conferences and Colleges of Optometry each year to lecture to his colleagues and students, having given over 100 lectures and written several published editorials. Since then Dr. Will has dedicated his career to elevating private practice optometry and the patients in his community. Under his leadership, Optical Illusions: An Optometric Practice has become recognized for clinical excellence, advanced technology, and a curated luxury eyewear collection.

As a Bay Area native, he has taken on leadership roles both in the local community and beyond, serving as a Past President of the Santa Clara County Optometric Society, on several past committees of the California Optometric Association, and as a current Federal Advocacy Representative for the American Optometric Association. Why did you become an Eye Doctor?

I always wanted to help people and make a difference in their lives, use state of the art technology every day, and be a business owner. Optometry made perfect sense for me.

What is your favorite Eyewear Brand?

My favorite pair of glasses are my Zero G Titanium eyewear. I filled them with Eyezen Anti-fatigue Lenses, Crizal Sapphire Anti-glare coating, Blue Light filter, and Transitions GEN S Colors in Amethyst

What is your favorite Sunglasses Brand?

It’s a toss up between Cartier or Maui Jim. It depends on the occasion.

What is your favorite Eyecare Technology at the Practices?

Optos Silverstone. There’s no way I would practice without ultra-widefield imaging. I’ve caught many early onset eye diseases because of this device.

What is your favorite place to Travel?

Tokyo is by far my favorite city in the world. It’s like stepping 10 years in the future when you’re there.

What is your favorite Sports Team?

I’m born and raised in the Bay Area, so I’m a big fan of the San Jose Sharks, San Francisco 49ers, and Golden State Warriors
