Dr. Paris Montgomery is from San Diego, California, and received her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of California, San Diego. She completed her Doctorate of Optometry degree in Boston at the New England College of Optometry and graduated with clinical honors, completing rotations at diverse community health centers throughout the greater Boston area, the Bedford VA Hospital, and private optometry and ophthalmology clinics in California and New Hampshire. She has a focused interest in myopia control, fitting specialty contact lenses, and dry eye disease management and has received extensive training in these fields.

Dr. Paris is a member of the California Optometric Society and the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control. Being new to the Bay Area, she is excited to provide care to the Juneau community and is always looking for new restaurant recommendations, loves to travel, go hiking, and go to concerts in her free time.

Dr. Lizeth Gonzalez received her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles. She completed her Doctorate of Optometry degree at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, where she was part of Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH) and traveled to the Dominican Republic to provide eye care to underserved communities. Though she is from Southern California originally, Dr. Liz has clinical experience working in various practice modalities throughout the greater Boston area and Miami, where she gained extensive training in Low Vision and the treatment of Ocular Diseases. Dr. Liz also has a special interest in the treatment and management of Dry Eye Disease and Specialty Contact Lenses.

Dr. Liz is a member of the American Optometric Association and the California Optometric Association. During her spare time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, and hiking with her shepsky, Tommy.

Dra. Lizeth González recibió su Licenciatura en Psicología de la Universidad de California, Los Ángeles (UCLA). Completó su Doctorado en Optometría en el New England College of Optometry en Boston, donde formó parte de Servicios de Optometría Voluntaria Para la Humanidad (VOSH), y viajó a la República Dominicana para brindar atención oftalmológica a comunidades desatendidas. Aunque originalmente es del sur de California, la Dra. Liz no solo tiene experiencia trabajando allí, sino también en diversas modalidades de práctica en el área metropolitana de Boston y Miami, donde obtuvo una amplia capacitación en baja visión y el tratamiento de enfermedades oculares.

Dr. William To has multiple years of healthcare experience providing design-based ocular care, with an optometric emphasis in Pediatrics, Dry Eye Therapy, and Ocular Surface Disease.

He graduated from UC San Diego with a Bachelor’s in Human Biology and a minor in Psychology and earned his Doctorate in Optometry from Western University of Health Sciences. Dr. Will is regularly invited to several Optometric Conferences and Colleges of Optometry each year to lecture to his colleagues and students, having given over 100 lectures and written several published editorials.

When he’s not caring for his amazing patients, Dr. Will enjoys traveling every chance he gets. As a Bay Area native, he has taken on leadership roles both in the local community and beyond, serving as the Immediate Past President of the Santa Clara County Optometric Society and on several California Optometric Association and American Optometric Association committees. He is actively involved with a variety of community outreach and social programs.

Dr. Will is an avid Golden State Warriors and 49ers fan.

Dr. Katalina Yandell earned her Bachelor of Science in biology from Northern Arizona University. Not only was she one of their top students, but it was there she found a passion for helping others and giving back to her community.

Dr. Kat, who is a native Seattleite, loves to travel and jumped at the opportunity to live in sunny Southern California to earn her Doctorate in Optometry from the Western University of Health Sciences. She received numerous awards for her achievements in political activism, leadership among her peers, and passion for private practice optometry.

Dr. Kat currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Santa Clara County Optometric Society, and in her spare time, she enjoys reading books, traveling to new places, and playing with her cute cats Zedd and Gizmo.

Jenica joined the practice in December 2013 as a Paraoptometric (Optometric Technician) and since 2018 has also held the position of Office Manager. Because of her multiple roles within the clinic, you may interact with Jenica in several departments during your visit, including pre-testing at your comprehensive eye exam, ocular medical tests ordered by the doctor, contact lens trainings, and more. She has been a Certified Paraoptometric with the American Optometric Association since August 2015, and in 2019 also obtained a certificate in Optometric Practice Management through the University of Houston’s College of Optometry, OD Excellence Program.

Jenica enjoys photography in her spare time, particularly wildlife and landscapes, and has started experimenting with macro and night sky photography. She also enjoys hiking and spending time in the garden with her partner, Chris, and their animals, which include a dog, cat, chickens, fish, a gecko, and a very elderly turtle. Jenica was born in Southeast Alaska, and raised in Juneau.

Connor joined our team in June 2023 as a Paraoptometric technician. Although he will be helping out in many areas of the clinic, Connor’s role is primarily working with patients in pre-testing for annual comprehensive eye exams and performing other types of special tests that our doctors order for medical eye conditions. You may also interact with Connor if you are new to contact lenses, as he will provide training to patients on proper techniques for contact lens insertion and removal, and how to correctly care for contact lenses. Connor was previously a pharmacy technician, and a front-line worker during the COVID-19 pandemic with experience in prevention and detection of the virus. He is studying in the medical field to become a nurse with a minor degree in anthropology and has a very wide passion for helping patients to get the most effective healthcare they need.

In his free time, he enjoys art and practicing oktavism, playing the harp and tagelharpa, and is currently practicing piano. He is multilingual with an avid love of learning languages and different cultures. He also enjoys writing stories and poems in a variety of languages.

Ashlee joined the Lifetime Eyecare team in October 2023 and assists in several areas at our clinic: as an Optical Lab Assistant she places glasses orders, dispenses glasses to patients, and helps the Optical Department with any other tasks needed. As a Paraoptometric technician, she performs pre-testing for annual comprehensive eye exams and other types of special tests that our doctors order for medical eye conditions. She will also be helping patients who are new to contact lenses on the proper techniques for lens insertion and removal, and how to care for their lenses.

Ashlee was born and raised in Juneau. She is currently in the process of obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration. She loves to bake cakes, read, and watch movies, with Marvel movies being her favorite.

Michelle joined the practice in June of 2011 as a Patient Care Coordinator and became our Patient Accounts Manager in 2012. With Michelle’s talent for conflict resolution and her strong communication skills, she oversees the day-to-day operations of the billing department. This involves supervising and training billing staff, working with staff to ensure accuracy, resolving inconsistencies as needed, and developing ways to streamline and improve processes within the department. Her goals are to ensure timely/accurate claim submissions and claim payments, ensure accuracy of patient invoicing, and to work with patients explaining their account status/details. When discrepancies occur, she works diligently with patients, their physicians, and their insurance companies to resolve the issues.

Michelle is originally from Riverside, California. Outside of work she enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family outdoors. She feels blessed to have spent time in some of the most beautiful places in America; Juneau, Hawaii, and Guam.

Christy joined our billing team in July 2022. Christy will assist in many aspects of our patient accounts and insurance billing processes, including verification of insurance eligibility and benefits, claim submissions, and insurance claim follow-up. Christy is originally from Phoenix, AZ, and now lives in beautiful Lake Havasu City, AZ, with her husband, who is a pastor of two church campuses. They have a dog, two daughters, and a son-in-law.

When not working, Christy enjoys many types of crafts, including crochet, painting, sewing, scrapbooking, and graphics layout/design. She also loves to read and play board games with her friends and family.

Joseph joined our team in September 2024 with experience in patient care from his previous work in physical therapy and rehabilitation. At our office, Joseph assists patients in selecting frame and lens options to best fit their needs, provides assistance at the front desk, trains patients in contact lens insertion, removal, and care, and performs pre-testing for exams. As a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, Joseph puts the needs of patients first and strives for mission success in all aspects. Joseph is going to school and working towards acceptance into a Radiology Technician program in the future. In his free time, Joseph likes to go for coffee and enjoy his favorite nature spots. Joseph loves horror movies and his Siamese cat.

Charish has three years of experience working in private hospitals where she has developed her professional skills and a deep understanding of the healthcare industry. She takes pride in her ability to collaborate effectively with her team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.

Charish currently lives in the Philippines. When she is not working, she loves spending time traveling.

Irma has been in the optical industry for over 16 years. She is incredibly patient-focused, detail-oriented, and computer-savvy. She currently lives in Gqeberha, formerly known as Port Elizabeth, South Africa. When she is not working, Irma loves spending time exploring the outdoors with her husband in her free time.
