Congratulations to Dr. Michael Bennett for his Retirement

JUNEAU, AK – Lifetime Eyecare has joined Optical Illusions: An Optometric Practice owned and operated by Dr. William To, whose goal is to continue the legacy and outstanding eyecare that Dr. Michael Bennett and Dr. Box provided for the Juneau community over the last 60 years. The team is still dedicated to comprehensive eyecare and exceptional eyewear, and they are pleased to continue serving Juneau and surrounding communities, providing top quality service to the community since 1966.

Upon his retirement, Dr. Bennett issued a statement for his long-time patients:

To My Valued Patients and Friends,

There are some changes coming up at Lifetime Eyecare. I will be retiring at the end of the year. While I may fill in for a few days occasionally in the short term, I will no longer be on the regular schedule for appointments moving forward.

Dr. Will To from San Jose, California, who has been providing high quality vision and medical eye care in California, will take over to continue to serve your vision and eye health needs. He will be joined by his associates Dr. Paris Montgomery and Dr. Lizeth Gonzalez who brings a dynamic skill set and a kind warm manner to the practice. I’m sure you will join me in welcoming them to Juneau. The one thing I know will never change is Lifetime Eyecare’s complete commitment to your vision and well-being. I have no doubt that the team will continue to provide the best eyecare that you and this community deserves.

Caring for your eye health has been an honor and joy for the last twenty-three years, and I will truly miss doing so alongside my wonderful team. Thank you for trusting me with your eyecare needs for so long.

Bringing Juneau into the Future

Since the days of Dr. Box, Lifetime Eyecare has always been known as the most modern and technology forward practice in town. Dr. Will To hopes to continue that tradition by introducing a new hybrid telehealth technology to the practice to improve access to eye care in the Juneau community. It will also allow Juneau patients to be seen promptly without long waitlists and for patients to be seen by world-renowned ophthalmologists and optometrists from all over the world without patients needing to traveling thousands of miles anymore.
